The 4 Types of Beauty

Beauty is frequently defined as a subjective quality of certain objects that make those objects pleasurable to see. Such objects may include sunsets, landscapes, humans and beautiful works of art. Beauty, along with personal preference, is perhaps the most influential theme of aesthetics, among the various branches of aesthetic philosophy. Philosophy is often dominated by ideas of aesthetics; people, then, are often led to discuss beauty in terms of mental images created by the mind. This article briefly covers the various foundations of beauty.

The word beauty, in the broadest sense, refers to the conformity of forms and functions to befit a specific purpose. The word is thus used to define beauty in the context of its application to art, literature and film. The word beauty, however, varies considerably from meaning to meaning. For instance, the word beauty is commonly used to describe the aesthetic qualities of a work of art, while beauty in music is used to specify the aesthetic qualities of a recording. A common example of the word beauty, in this context, is found when a young child looks at a mirror and admires the details of an object.

Another way to define beauty is through the lens of psychology. Psychology uses the term beauty to refer to those attributes that are desired by humans in the pursuit of pleasure. Thus, beautiful things or beautiful people are considered to be highly desirable, while unattractive or dazed ones are deemed to be undesirable. However, beauty is not merely subjective; rather, it is dependent on the needs of the person viewing the beauty. For instance, a beautiful body could be considered beautiful if the viewer feels attracted to it because of its appeal to the eye. On the other hand, the presence or absence of physical beauty is determined by a person’s own standards, desires and motivation.

According to some social media users, there are three major types of beauty – Physical attractiveness, emotional beauty and social beauty. Physical beauty is determined by physical factors, including skin and hair color. Emotional beauty is defined as how you feel about yourself and your physical appearance, while social beauty is more related to the way you view yourself and your interaction with others. According to some experts, beauty can also be determined by how much you accept yourself. For instance, those who accept themselves as they are not ashamed of their imperfections are said to possess a dazed beauty, while those who are self-conscious about their appearance and try to change themselves through external means are said to possess a radiant beauty.

Based on the definitions provided above, it can be said that there are basically four types of beauty. However, this does not mean that these types of beauty are necessarily good or bad. In fact, it is a given fact that all beautiful people have great qualities that contribute to their charm is a result of their own personal beauty and their own personal essence. It is up to us to find our own definition of beauty and develop the kind of qualities that defines us as beautiful. This way, we will be able to know what kind of person we really are and will be more confident as we go along.

We may all have different definitions of beauty, but we all share one thing in common which is our inherent worth as a human being. When we accept ourselves and our capabilities in spite of what others think, then we become, in a sense, beautiful. Being beautiful should never be about comparing but should always be about celebrating our differences and beauty in all its forms. Be yourself and be proud of your own beautiful self.
